What happens in the first season of The Walking Dead?

This is where it all started. The first season of The Walking Dead begins with Rick Grimes, a sheriff’s deputy, waking up from a coma after being shot. He encounters a world full of ‘walkers,’ and travels to Georgia to reunite with his family, which includes his wife Lori and son Carl. Also, you must try to play The Walking Dead Quiz.

Along the way, he meets Morgan and his son, Duane, but abandons them after learning of a refugee camp. In Georgia, he makes friends with Glenn, a survivor scavenging for supplies, as well as redneck Merle and T-Dogg. The gang handcuffs Merle and abandons him on a roof, only to return later to find him gone, with no trace of a body.

Rick finally arrives at the camp where Lori and Carl are staying, as well as his best friend/former colleague, Shane, who has begun a relationship with Lori, unbeknownst to Rick. The camp also includes the rest of the original season’s cast: Daryl (Merle’s brother), Amy, Andrea, Morales, Carol & Ed (along with daughter Sophia), Jim, Dale, and Jacqui.

What happens in Season 2 of The Walking Dead?

The majority of Season 2 takes place on the farm of elderly doctor Hershel, who is also accompanied by his two daughters Maggie and Beth. After Carl is accidentally shot and Carol’s daughter Sophia goes missing, the gang heads there.

Shane eventually leaves Otis, the man who shot Carl, for a dead while out looking for supplies. Meanwhile, Carl recovers from his injuries, and Lori discovers she is pregnant.

Glenn begins a relationship with Maggie, but a late-night meet-up turns sour when Glenn discovers Hershel’s barn is full of captive walkers.

Eventually, the survivors decide to open the barn door. Sophia is discovered inside, but she has long since died and turned into a walker; Rick murders her reanimated corpse.

What happens in Season 3 of The Walking Dead?

Season 3 begins eight months after the conclusion of Season 2, with Rick and the survivors reclaiming a prison from the walkers to use as a new home. Lori, on the other hand, is heavily pregnant with her second child.

Hershel is bitten on the leg during the battle for the prison and has it amputated to avoid turning. Ironically, the remaining prisoners are being held captive by the group in a different wing of the prison.

Andrea and Michonne are taken in by Merle, who has joined forces with the Woodbury community and their leader, The Governor.

What happens in Season 4 of The Walking Dead?

Things quickly spiral out of control at the prison as a result of a disease spread by livestock on the grounds. The group is forced to make difficult decisions, such as quarantining the infected. Two of those infected, David and Tyreese’s girlfriend, Karen, are murdered; the murderer is later revealed to be Carol.

The Governor also retaliates at the prison, where he meets the Chamblers (Lilly, Tara, and Megan). He kidnaps Michonne and Hershel before executing the latter and igniting an all-out war inside the prison. The Governor is eventually defeated and killed by Lilly, while the original group of survivors disbands and scatters, with Judith being taken in by Carol and Tyreese.

Daryl, Beth, Carol, Tyreese, Judith, sisters Lizzie and Mika, Sasha, Bob, and Maggie form a large group, while Glenn meets Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene, who are on their way to Washington D.C. to find a cure. Rick, Michonne, and Carl search for the group’s remaining members.

What happens in Season 5 of The Walking Dead?

The first half of the season is devoted to Beth’s recovery, who is discovered working under the watchful eye of Dawn, a crazed police officer-turned-hospital administrator. This follows an explosive first episode in which Carol dispatches many Terminus members while also rescuing the group.

Rick meets Father Gabriel, who has condemned much of his parish to death as a result of the walker outbreak. Gareth, the ex-leader of Terminus, leads his remaining group to attack and kill Bob while he is there.

Later attempts to save Beth include Carol being wheeled to the hospital after an accident, but it ends tragically when Beth stabs Dawn and Dawn kills Beth. Tyreese, Sasha’s brother, also dies during a rescue mission to save hospital worker Noah’s family.
