A few days before Thanksgiving in 1975, in a little gymnasium, Rocky Balboa battles a man. It doesn’t look good for Balboa at first; then Rocky beats him down to the mat when his opponent headbutts him. If you’re in the ring with Rocky, here’s a tip: don’t miss his face. A big forty bucks, Rocky wins. Boxing doesn’t pay bills (even $40 wasn’t much in 1975) so Rocky works for a local boss/lend shark as a “collection agent” uh. Rocky tries to woo Adrian, the clerk at the neighborhood pet shop when he doesn’t collect bills or bruises. She’s Rocky’s sister, who works at the local slaughterhouse, Paulie’s best buddy.
On Thanksgiving night, after several failed attempts Rocky finally manages to reach a date with Adrian. Both of them are the only ones at the local skating rink when Rocky has 10 bucks to the proprietor. Adrian would like to know why the boxes are rocky. He claims it’s a ‘bum’ and a ‘moron.’ But she doesn’t care he’s a bum, and she’s bashful, thus these two are the right couple. She’s just not shy. Rocky will soon get a chance to show himself that after all, he is not a bum. Apollo Creed, the world’s heavyweight champion, needs a new challenger. Believing has flair, and he wants the struggle to be a show. So he chooses the Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa who knows the good news when he takes a shot at the title from a local Philly youngster.
The following day, Rocky was called to the gym where Mickey informed him the people of Creed wanted to employ him as a champion. Balboa is ready to take the position, but he’s said the truth once he gets into the office – he’s offered a lifetime chance. Rocky attends a news conference to say that he accepts everyone with his one chance to recognize and respect themselves in his presence.
Rocky starts his own exercise and Paulie starts to allow it to be stuck against the beef sides in a meat-packaging plant. Mickey appears in the flat at Balboa and asks him to take him up as an executive trainer. Rocky can’t think the old man suddenly cares about six years of insults, but the boxer is remorseful and decides to hire him. Mickey throws him in awful training very immediately, aiming to make the best of Rocky.

Meanwhile, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), a World Heavyweight Champion who had arranged the first day of his 1976 two-century bicentennial defense in Philadelphia, learns that his scheduled opponent is not able to fight. There is no other top candidate, so Creed decides to give a local fighter a shot. On his nickname, “the Italian Stallion,” he picks Rocky. Rocky starts dating Adrian just before the opportunity to face Creed is presented. Mickey, the imminent game learning, Rocky training volunteers. Creed initially underestimates Rocky, who is the first boxer to crash Creed.
