Ash Ketchum, a novice trainer from Pallet Town who aspires to be the Pokémon Champion, travels with his starter Pokémon, Pikachu. Gary Oak, his opponent, however, stands in his way and disparages him at every opportunity. The plot arc spans 82 episodes, beginning with “Pokémon – I Choose You!” and ending with “Friends to the End.” In terms of seasons, all 55 episodes from “Pokémon – I Choose You!” to “The Breeding Center Secret” (excluding “Princess vs. Princess” and “The Purr-fect Hero”) comprise Season 1, and the remaining episodes (“Princess vs. Princess”, “The Purr-fect Hero”, and “Riddle Me This” to the rest of Indigo League) comprise Season 2. About the quiz
From 1997 through 2002, Takeshi Shudo was the Pokémon anime’s primary writer. He also wrote or co-wrote the first three Pokémon films, as well as the Mewtwo Returns TV special. Shudo’s vision for the Pokémon anime was very different from what the franchise’s leaders desired, and many of his darker tale concepts were scrapped. Shudo died in 2010, however, he left behind a blog with his writing musings and comments on the Pokémon anime.

The Pokémon anime’s run was extended as a result of the show’s break following the “Electric Soldier Porygon” event, as well as the delays in Pokémon Gold and Silver necessitating the necessity for the Orange Islands filler season. Shudo had planned to end the series with Pokémon: The First Movie in a way that would fit in with a grimdark fan theory.
