About the quiz

From 1997 through 2002, Takeshi Shudo was the Pokémon anime’s primary writer. He also wrote or co-wrote the first three Pokémon films, as well as the Mewtwo Returns TV special. Shudo’s vision for the Pokémon anime was very different from what the franchise’s leaders desired, and many of his darker tale concepts were scrapped. Shudo died in 2010, however, he left behind a blog with his writing musings and comments on the Pokémon anime.

Shudo’s blog reveals his original ending proposal, which Dr. Lava has translated and posted on the Lava Cut Content website. The Pokémon anime’s run was extended as a result of the show’s break following the “Electric Soldier Porygon” event, as well as the delays in Pokémon Gold and Silver necessitating the necessity for the Orange Islands filler season. Shudo had planned to end the series with Pokémon: The First Movie in a way that would fit in with a grimdark fan theory.
