The Lich King
The Lich King began his life as the orc shaman Ner’zhul but was caught by his old master, Kil’Jaeden while attempting to experience the demise of Draenor, the orcs’ homeworld. Kil’Jaeden shattered Ner’zhul’s corpse, transforming him into the Lich King, a creature with near-limitless authority over the dead. The spirit of the Lich King was imprisoned within a massive piece of crystal and returned to Azeroth, where it landed on the freezing region of Northrend. Ner’zhul then produced the plague of undeath, which he used to create the Scourge, an undead army. The Undead Scourge wreaked havoc on the kingdoms of Lordaeron and Quel’thalas, nearly bringing Azeroth to its knees.
Medivh
The Guardians of Tirisfal were an order of Azeroth’s most powerful magicians who were chosen to guard the realm from the Burning Legion. Aegwynn, Medivh’s mother and predecessor, was so powerful that she could beat the Avatar of Sargeras in single combat. Unfortunately for her, despite Medivh’s efforts to oppose him, Sargeras possessed her unborn son, gradually turning him insane. The Blue Dragonflight, the guardians of magic, sent Arcanagos to deal with Medivh, but Medivh proved too powerful, killing the dragon and imprisoned his spirit within Karazhan. Aspects of the Dragon
After the Titans finished building Azeroth, they fortified the world with a variety of defenses to keep it safe. The first of them were the five Dragon Aspects, each with its own territory and power provided by the Titan Pantheon.
Alexstrasza, the Life-Binder, and her Red Flight were entrusted with the care of life. Throughout World of Warcraft, we witness the Red Flight use their abilities to mitigate the effects of the undeath virus in a limited manner. Malygos and his blue flight were given control over magic and esoteric knowledge. The Bronze flight, led by Nozdormu, was given the ability to govern and travel across time, making them one of the most powerful – and possibly dangerous – flights.
Kil’Jaeden
Kil’Jaeden, along with Archimonde and Velen, was a leader of the Eredar, a technologically advanced and powerful species that lived on the planet Argus. Kil’Jaeden and his comrades were approached one day by the giant Sargeras, who offered them power and glory in exchange for their service. Unlike Velen and his Draenei followers, Kil’Jaeden and Archimonde quickly accepted Sargeras’ invitation to head his Burning Legion.

The Ancient Gods
These Lovecraftian creatures ruled over primeval Azeroth for untold millennia before the Titans arrived to bring order to the world and destroy the Black Empire of the Old Gods. Though the Titans were more than capable of eliminating them, these parasitic beings had buried themselves deep within the planet, making removal impossible without destroying Azeroth. Finally, the Titans were forced to confine the Old Gods deep beneath the earth’s surface. Despite their confinement, the Old Gods have had a significant impact on Azeroth’s history, being responsible for Deathwing’s corruption, the Emerald Nightmare, and driving Malygos insane. For whatever reason, the Old Gods aren’t admirers of dragons.
Sargeras
Sargeras, formerly the greatest and most powerful Titan, had been tasked with defending creation from the forces of chaos. He worked for countless generations, easily conquering whatever obstacles he encountered, until one day he made a revelation that would shake his faith in the Titans’ cause. He discovered proof that the Void Lords, beings of enormous power who reside outside the world, had discovered a way to invade the physical universe. Sargeras became convinced that the only way to properly halt this menace was to destroy all life in the cosmos and recreate it in such a way that the Void could not find a foothold. Sargeras created the Burning Legion, a huge demonic army comprised of corrupted races as well as the many demons he had imprisoned during his tenure as Pantheon’s champion.
