The two police officers were killed in Grapevine, Texas in April 1934, and five days later a cop in Miami, Oklahoma, killed a police officer and abducted a police chief. They were finally betrayed by a friend and the pair were embossed by law enforcing agents from Texas and Louisiana on a roadway in Bienville Parish, Louise, between Gibsland and Sailes on 23 May 1934. After trying to escape the roadblock, the police fire opened and murdered them.
