Which Barbie Are You?
In 1977, during the era of the Halter Dress and Farrah Fawcett hair, Barbie received a radical transformation in the form of Superstar Barbie.
For the rest of the 1970s, all of the 1980s, and a huge portion of the 1990s, Barbies were created with a wide toothy smile and loads of long blonde hair. In 1978, an 18″ Supersize Barbie with the Superstar’s face was produced.
The first Black Barbie was released in 1980, and she was known as “Black Barbie.” She was created using the Steffie face mold.
Barbie’s history as a collector doll blossomed following the success of Holiday Barbie, which was initially launched in 1988. Mattel began producing Collectible Barbies for adult collectors, including Vintage Barbie Reproductions, as a result of her popularity. These adult collectors had a childhood fascination with Vintage Barbie Dolls, which contributed to the developing interest in Vintage Barbies.
Many of the first collectible Barbie Dolls were designed by well-known artists. Bob Mackie created some of the most well-known. After so many years with the Superstar’s face, one of Barbie’s first transformations was with the “Mackie Face,” which was first utilized for Mackie’s 1992 Neptune Fantasy Barbie and then became increasingly popular for Collectible Barbies. The first Holiday Barbie with Mackie’s face was the 1998 Happy Holiday Barbie.

About the quiz
Mattel began differentiating Barbies by different classes using Label Colors in 2001. The current classifications are as follows:
Pink Label (which has traditionally been referred to as “pink box” for obvious reasons) is used to denote playline or low-cost dolls that are accessible wherever Barbie Dolls are sold.
Silver Label dolls are collectibles with fewer than 50,000 created globally.
Gold Label denotes numbered editions of 25,000 or less worldwide, which are accessible at select merchants.
Platinum Label is an elite label given to dolls that are serially numbered editions with fewer than 1,000 available worldwide. They are exclusively available from authorized Barbie retailers.
Black Label is a more recent term that denotes a doll creator for the adult collector.
Barbie has evolved and become more diverse during the previous ten years. Skin tones, hair hues, and facial sculpt are being utilized in a number of ways. Mattel announced the next step in Barbie Doll history, a series of twelve Black Label Basic Barbie Dolls, each with a different sort of Barbie faces sculpting.
