Uncharted Quiz – Which Character Are You?

Take this Uncharted Quiz to find out which character you are. We update the quiz regularly and it’s the most accurate among the other quizzes.

What makes a film based on a video game more soulless than the game itself? The gaming industry has long been chastised for lacking a human element, but Ruben Fleischer’s “Uncharted” feels even more devoid of humanity than the award-winning franchise on which it is based. “Uncharted,” dominated by green screen special effects and thin treasure-hunt plotting, fundamentally lacks the sense of adventure that made the Sony games some of the most beloved of all time.

Editor’s Picks

What’s most surprising is how much more cinematic the games themselves feel in terms of world-building, character, and narrative than the actual movie. It’s not as bad as some video game adaptations, and it’s light enough on its feet to never insult the intelligence of its audience, as so many of these films do. However, “Uncharted” appears to want to ride the goodwill of Nathan Drake’s video game adventures rather than create any of its own; it takes no risks and feels like the bare minimum effort in terms of storytelling. Roger famously stated that video games can never be considered art. The ones on which this film is based are undoubtedly more artistic. Also, you must try to play this Uncharted Quiz.

Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) was created as a nod to Indiana Jones and the serial adventure films that influenced him. He should be a smooth-talking treasure hunter, operating in a morally ambiguous zone where stealing priceless artifacts is justified because no one else can truly appreciate them like Drake. Holland possesses the agility required for a character like Drake, who was raised in an orphanage and is willing to steal to make ends meet. If Indiana was usually the smartest person in the room, Drake needs to be the one with the sharpest instincts, someone who sees history’s puzzles with expertise and courage. Holland is a talented actor, but he’s miscast here, looking like a kid dressed up as his favorite video game character. Also, you will find out which Uncharted character are you in this quiz.

While working at a bar and stealing jewelry from his customers, Drake is approached by Victor Sullivan aka Sully (Mark Wahlberg), who tells him that he and Nathan’s brother Sam came dangerously close to discovering one of history’s most famous lost treasures. They stole the famous explorer Juan Sebastian Elcano’s diary, which will lead them to the treasure hidden by the Magellan expedition. They soon meet Santiago Moncada (an underutilized Antonio Banderas), the heir to the family that funded the original expedition. Moncada’s will is enforced by the tough Jo Braddock (Tati Gabrielle), and the boys reunite with Sully’s old colleague Chloe Frazier in Barcelona (Sophia Ali, who pretty much steals the movie).

About the quiz

“Uncharted” bounces these characters off each other on a journey to Spain and the Philippines, but nothing feels substantial. It’s green screen acting that ignores how important setting can be in a film like this one. Whether Nathan and Chloe are crawling through a nondescript tunnel to hidden treasure or Sully is getting into one of the few fight scenes in an actual Papa John’s, design is never a consideration. A film like “Uncharted” must transport viewers. We must embark on the journey rather than simply watching actors pretend to fall out of planes. The “Uncharted” games transport players all over the world. This cold, distant adventure film will never give you that feeling.

The relative charm of the cast is what saves “Uncharted” from the depths of the worst video game adaptations. Holland may be miscast, but he’s an incredibly likable movie star, and I hope he can find roles that make better use of his charms. Wahlberg strikes a nice balance between his charisma and the exhausted tone of a treasure hunter who has seen and done enough and is looking for that one last job that will set him up for life. Banderas is wasted, and Gabrielle is inconsistent, but Ali is arguably the only performer who understands that “Uncharted” is supposed to be entertaining. When she’s on screen, she adds much-needed energy and unpredictability to the film.
