Darrel Curtis

The older brother of Ponyboy. Twenty-year-old greaser Darrel, often known as “Darry,” is parenting Ponyboy after their parents were killed in a vehicle accident. Darry, a powerful, clever athlete, has stopped attending school. To keep the family together, he works two jobs. He takes on the role of an authority figure for Ponyboy as the greasers’ unofficial commander. Additionally, he bakes delicious chocolate cake, which he and his brothers consume each morning for breakfast. His nickname among the greasers is “Superman.”

Sodapop Curtis

Happy-go-lucky, attractive brother of Ponyboy. The middle Curtis boy is named Sodapop. Ponyboy is envious of Sodapop’s attractiveness and charm. Sodapop intends to wed greaser chick Sandy.

Two-Bit Mathews

The goofball in Ponyboy’s crew. Keith, better known as Two-Bit, is a wisecracking greaser who frequently shoplifts. He treasures the switchblade with the sleek black handle. He incites the conflict between the Socs and the greasers by making advances on Marcia, a Soc’s girlfriend.
