Meanwhile, Gerald Lambeau has an MIT professor in the hall to test whether some of his students are up to the challenge with a highly hard arithmetic issue. They’re not, turns out. In the meantime, when he attacks a policeman, Will gets into difficulty with the law. In conjunction with his 1,000-mile rap sheet, this attack locks Will on a one-way street. However, in the last second Lambeau follows him and makes an agreement with the judge: Will can stay out of prison as long as he is involved in mathematics with Lambeau each week – and gets therapy on his side. A good scene that inspires the long friendship between Damon and Affleck is a glimpse into the everyday routine of their characters—the movement of slip into the car, coffee and move out.
