How the Golden Child came to be
Following the launch of Woollim Entertainment’s pre-debut project for trainees, W Project, in January 2017, five Golden Child members, Daeyeol, Jangjun, Joochan, Donghyun, and Tag, as well as their former member, Jaeseok, were unveiled. On the 17th of May 2017, they revealed eleven names as the band’s lineup, and the band debuted on the 28th of August 2017.
Why Did Jaeseok Leave?
Woollim Entertainment issued an official statement on January 7, 2018, stating that Jaeseok had left Golden Child due to health issues. They stated that it is unfortunate that they are informing their fans of such news so soon after their debut. They also stated that after Park Jae-Seok, who received a lot of love while promoting as a Golden Child member, revealed his intention to put his activities as an artist on hold due to his health condition and other great pressures from his musical activities, they would support him in his future endeavors.

Daeyeol, the leader of Golden Child, was born on February 11, 1993 in Gyeonggi-do, Yongin, South Korea as Lee Daeyeol. Choi Seongyoon, Y’s birth name, was Choi Seongyoon Choi Seongyoon Choi Seongyoon Choi Seongyoon Choi Seongyoon Choi Seongyoon Cho Jangjun was born on March 3, 1997, as Lee Jangjun in Jeongju, South Korea. Tag was born on April 13, 1998, in Hwaseong, South Korea, as Son Youngtaek. Seungmin was born on October 13, 1998, as Bae Seungmin in Gwangju, South Korea. Since the group’s inception in 2017, Golden Child has released three extended plays, Gol-Cha! (2017), ‘Miracle’ (2018), and ‘Wish’ (2018), all of which contain numerous hit songs. Among them are ‘DamDaDi,’ ‘I Love You So,’ ‘It’s U,’ ‘Eyes on You,’ ‘I See You,’ ‘You Turn Me On Baby,’ and ‘Would You Be My.’ Furthermore, they have released a single album titled ‘Goldenness’ (2018), with the lead single ‘Let Me.’
Ambassadorial Post for Golden Child Members
On December 6, 2017, Golden Child was officially chosen as the new ambassador for the 2018 Korea Scout Association. It was truly an honorable achievement by the group, made possible by their unique representation of their country.
