To save a young boy from being run over by an automobile, Yusuke sacrifices his life. His second opportunity at life comes from Koenma, prince of the ReiKai (spirit world), but he has one condition: he must become a detective for the ReiKai in order to live again. When he first meets Kurama and Hiei, the thieves, he becomes one of his closest friends. All of them, together with his best buddy Kazuma Kuwabara, formed a team and completed a number of assignments assigned by Koenma Together with Genkai’s tutor, they compete in a competition to meet Toguro, whom they defeated during one of their missions.
