Scream Queens, Ryan Murphy’s horror-comedy, is technically an anthology series, but it appears to have a more linear plot than American Horror Story (which starts over from scratch each season). As part of her huge plan to bring down Kappa Kappa Tau, Hester framed the Chanels for the Red Devil killings. Chanel (Emma Roberts), Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd), and Chanel #5 (Abigail Breslin) are all sentenced to a mental institution, where they all end up strangely happy — Chanel because she’s finally learned to be nice, Chanel #3 because she’s embraced her interest in women, and Chanel #5 because of medication. Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) also survived, despite being the only person directly responsible for Boone and Hester’s mother’s death; she concluded the season as a best-selling author. Denise Hemphill (Niecy Nash) left for FBI training following a love triangle with Chad Radwell (Glen Powell), and Grace’s father (Oliver Hudson) went on vacation with his new girlfriend Dean Munsch. It’s hard to believe that someone believed it was okay to kill off Earl Grey while leaving Grace and her father alive, but it was.
This hospital appears to be different from the one where the Chanels were sent at the end of season one, yet it is controlled by Dean Munsch. The Chanels are medical students, which is absurd for a variety of reasons, including “zero proof that they ever do any study, plus they’re mad.” Lord help anyone unfortunate enough to be in their care, for the only person on this show who is likely to treat you worse is the serial killer. Taylor Lautner and John Stamos will also play employees at this secret hospital, and according to one of the teasers, Taylor will have a fling with Chanel #5. After all, how could she turn down a man like Cassidy Cascade?
