I started this blog a year ago with Disney’s The Lion Guard being the first review I did. It was not a flattering review for anyone who read it. I had a lot to say on the Disney spin and from its art and animation to its subjects and story problems, I was strongly critical of it. Looking back, this was not the ideal foot to get started. I found it to be harsh and bitter, not fantastic.
But to give you a sense of how this review goes, let me start by saying that I have fully redeemed it for the third (and finishing) season of this show. I termed it “a redemption” in the title, but that has a dual significance, first, as I have just mentioned, but I’m also expecting to get a bit of a rescue from it and to be a critic less tough.
Samira goes alone in the Outlands to acquire a new package to help her live. She’s even angrier with the Lion Guard then, since she may expect the rest of her pack in her eyes. She wandered godlessly around the Outlands until she unintentionally stumbled into Janja’s realm (maybe singing a song).

The Lion Guard opened this season as the Pridelands went to war with the Outlanders’ army commanded by Scar’s ardent spirit. It demonstrates, too, that since the previous season, the Lion Guard has grown up a bit as they appear in the teenage realm. Scar created a strategy, revealing how he got his Scar; another lion received a snake bite, giving him a scar and helping to turn him wicked. But I can’t deny the fact that this explanation, which fans have been asking about for more than two decades… is plain ridiculous to me. I know my review will mostly bring some more favorable light to the program.
Janja jumps in front of Samira but he confuses her for a certain sort of hyena, not knowing that Samira is really an Aardwolf. This unusual look Hyena, Janja, and his group are perplexed. As usual, the Lion Guard hung around in its lair. Bunga says how Lion Guard has not recently had many issues to resolve. At the beginning of the lair, Mjomba is showing. Kion gets to him and asks if there’s anything wrong with him. Mjomba reveals that for a couple of days now, one of his pack members, an aardwolf nicknamed Samira, is gone. The Lion Guard is happy to finally do something and go to the missing Aardwolf.
We hit the ground straight outside the gate and have a great question that had floated for years in the Disney fandom: where was Nala’s father? There seems Mufasa and Scar are the only men in Pride Rock other than Simba, therefore it must be a third, right?

Staying on Zazu’s theme, why does it happen that Scar slaps his head on the stone to remove any witnesses to his murder scheme when he is fluttering and freak out on his gorge stampede? That makes perfect sense until the other lions lament Mufasa’s death. He looks fully unhurt.
This is what we can not understand: why would Zazu forget that immediately before Mufasa’s death Scar had knocked him off the ground? This is quite a suspicious piece of data. If the blasted bluebird can be squished by a rhino, he must be able to take the Scar paw pelting.
We call this directly absurd — but this is Disney, we can’t remain insane forever with them. That stated we want to know what bugs Timon and Pumbaa host if the “cream-filled” cracklings can nourish for years a full-grown lion.
While Timon and Pumbaa were rubbing up against some grub, either Simba was eating his remains, or he was snuffing a zebra or two. No way can Simba be half as fit, let alone have more muscle than skinny, skinny Scar, when it crosses this log. Perhaps those grubs have some average protein?
