Hype House is making its way to the small screen. Netflix revealed in April 2021 that a reality show on social media stars was in the works. According to a press release, the series will take viewers “inside the famed Hype House,” where TikTok content producers will “expose their lives to the public and exhibit a side of themselves and their relationships that we’ve rarely seen.”

The streamer followed up with a tweet revealing which Hype House members would be appearing on the show. “Kouvr Annon, Nikita Dragun, Sienna Mae Gomez, Chase Hudson, Larri Merritt, Thomas Petrou, Alex Warren, and Jack Wright — a.k.a. Hype House — will feature in a new unscripted series that will reveal a side of themselves (and their relationships) that we rarely witness!” Netflix tweeted.

What kind of people reside in the hype house?
To be honest, it’s nearly impossible to obtain an accurate list of all the members of the Hype House because it appears to be continually changing. That being said, we do know that Nikita Dragun, Thomas Petrou, Larri Merritt, Alex Warren, Chase Hudson, Kouvr Annon, and Jack Wright are now members of the group. Charli and Dixie used to be a big part of the group, but they left when the home atmosphere changed. “When the Hype House became more of a business, Charli and Dixie stepped away from that element,” their representative told the Hollywood Reporter. “Although their businesses are different, their friendships with the members remain.”

Also, Charli and Chase dated for a while before breaking up due to cheating suspicions, which had to be awk before Charli left the crew. Things seemed to be going well at first, but then Chase accused a slew of TikTokers of cheating on their boyfriends and girlfriends, Charli ordered him to quit playing the victim, and others began sending Chase death threats. The episode ended with Charli declaring on Instagram Live that she will always adore Chase. TL;DR: It was a complete disaster! The group was founded in December 2019 by 17-year-old TikTok star Lil Huddy and 21-year-old YouTube star Thomas Petrou, and strangely, you and I were not invited, which was…rude. And, according to the New York Times, it was initially called House of Olympus, which I believe we can all agree is the polar opposite of cool. You can discover their videos here, so if you want to watch TikToks instead of working, go ahead and do so.

About the quiz

Of course, Hype House’s origin tale is not without drama. Daisy Keech, a (former) member, made a since-deleted video on YouTube last year blasting Lil Huddy and Thomas Petrou for not giving her credit in her cofounding position. The influencer stated that she spent more than $10,000 to obtain the ACTUAL house and was involved in the early creative process, but she has been written entirely out of the story. Yikes. According to Forbes, she abandoned the famed TikTok crib and filed a lawsuit against Lil Huddy and Thomas Petrou.

According to the New York Times, this is not a party house: bringing guests over requires prior approval, you must replace anything broken, and, most importantly, you must create content Every. Damn. Day.

“If someone consistently messes up, they won’t be a part of our squad anymore,” Thomas told the outlet. It’s not going to work for you to come and stay with us for a week and not make any videos. This entire house is set out to maximize productivity. If you want to party, there are hundreds of residences in Los Angeles that throw parties every weekend. That’s not who we want to be. It’s not in keeping with the image of anyone in this house. This place is about constructing something large, which you can’t achieve if you go out on weekends.”
