Vintage Aesthetic Quiz – Which Style Are You?

By:

Take this Vintage Aesthetic Quiz to find out. We update the quiz regularly and it’s the most accurate among the other quizzes.

When confronted with a plethora of varied aesthetics, a millennial like myself become dizzy. We were obsessed with musical genres while I was in school; there were alters, rockers, goths, punks, rappers, and disco heads among us — and that was all. People typically made up their minds and stuck to a style. Jumping genres was dumb; listening to Britney one day and Iron Maiden the next was virtually unacceptable, if not blasphemous.

Thank goodness, this has all changed. Committing to a single style or genre is pointless in a world when everything is just one click away from anyone.

Editor’s Picks

It’s perfectly fine if you’re down on Monday, but you want to party like there’s no Wednesday on Tuesday. It’s much more acceptable to express this through your daily attire and look.

Let’s look at what these two words signify separately to get a sense of what’s similar in these styles. Also, you must try to play this Vintage Aesthetic quiz.

Vintage Aesthetic Quiz

Vintage refers to anything that is not new (at least 15-20 years old) and is not antique (it is not more than a century old). As a result, we can discuss the Y2K vintage, 1990s vintage, and 1940s vintage as well.

The term “aesthetic” is derived from the Greek word “aesthetics,” and it refers to sensitivity, sentience, and even perception. “Aesthetics is a discipline of philosophy that deals with the nature of beauty and taste,” according to Wikipedia. As an adjective, it denotes anything lovely or pleasurable.

When you put these two terms together, it signifies indulging in the beauty ideals of the last few decades.

“That’s all really brilliant and instructive…” you may say now. But I want to exude a retro style, so how should I dress?”

Because the retro look varies from decade to decade and from style to style, there are no hard and fast guidelines for doing it “correctly.”

You should merely go to some vintage shops or charity – you’ll find one-of-a-kind and authentic items in any thrift store. The top online antique shops even have these clothes perfectly designed – you can easily steal some wardrobe ideas from them.

That’s all there is to it. You don’t need top-tier stylists or fashion experts. Things that are shady don’t last for decades.

About the quiz

Vintage clothing predates the 1980s and 1990s. They can be found in vintage stores, but in the world of aesthetics, it refers to someone who is into old retro vibes and the eras of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

So, here are some of my personal observations about vintage aesthetics and trends.

THE EARLY 1990’S

As fashion globalized throughout this time period, it was a watershed moment. Grunge subculture was developed, and preppy schoolgirl clothes were favored. Furthermore, teenagers continued to become fashion stars, and the introduction of supermodels (ex. Versace girls) increased.

Grunge’s rise in the 1990s

This subculture arose since money was an issue at the time. People began to embrace the grunge appearance as a result of poverty, street meetings, and the development of bands such as Nirvana. Furthermore, famous fashion brands such as Marc Jacobs popularized this aesthetic by adopting the grunge appearance and incorporating it into their assortment.
