The year is 2020. There is a virus sweeping the globe, the majority of Americans are dead, and Britain is ruled by a fascist tyrant who offers protection but not liberty. V is the only person who can stop him, despite the police’s desperate efforts. Guy Fawkes, who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605, is seen on his mask. Guy Fawkes Day is celebrated on November 5, and for generations, British schoolchildren have lit bonfires to burn the effigy of Fawkes.

V saves a young TV reporter named Evey from police rape on this eve in 2020, compels her to join him, and makes a busy night of it by blowing up the Old Bailey courtrooms on the same evening.

As an example, the state seeks to bury the Old Bailey’s demolition by inventing a believable justification. V, on the other hand, seizes control of the national television network in order to claim credit for his actions.

Evey Hammond, a sixteen-year-old prostitute, sets out into the night to begin her career. Several Fingerman—police officers—arrest her. Apparently, the Fingerman plan to rape her, after which they will kill her. As the men are about to touch Evey, a man in a Guy Fawkes mask assaults them and rescues her from harm. On top of a roof, the figure points out the Houses of Parliament to Evey.

Conrad Heyer, Brian Etheridge, and Eric Finch, the leaders of Norsefire’s nose, finger, and ear confer with the Leader in the wake of the explosion (Eye). Lewis Prothero prepares to broadcast information at Jordan Tower.

V for Vendetta, first published in 1982, depicts a dystopian Britain in the 1990s, following a nuclear war that ravaged much of Europe and the world. In gruesome Resettlement Camps, Norsefire imprisoned, tortured, and killed all citizens it deemed undesirable, including gay people, immigrants, racial minorities, socialists, dissidents, Jewish people, and other non-Christians. Norsefire is a racist, homophobic, and neo-fascist party that has restored postwar order.

In the Norsefire government under the leadership of Adam Susan, the citizens have relatively little freedom. Also, they suffer from food shortages and environmental ailments. A continual stream of state-produced propaganda, transmitted through the Voice of Fate program, floods citizens’ minds with lies and disinformation. About the quiz

Evey Hammond, a sixteen-year-old prostitute, dresses and prepares herself for a prostitution run in Book One, “Europe After the Reign”. Furthermore, this day in British history, November 5, 1997, is noteworthy. Guy Fawkes attempted (but failed) to blow up London’s House of Lords on this date in 1605. “Fingerman,” a group of the secret police, abduct and kill Evey after V, the book’s protagonist, disguises himself as Guy Fawkes and reveals the plot to her over 400 years later.

Then, Alan Moore first told this story in 1982 and 1983 as a graphic novel. However, given the nature of the dictatorship, the hero performs very differently now. Terrorist or freedom fighter, that is the question. Also, he issues orders to his subordinates from a wall-sized TV screen and appears to be the incarnation of Big Brother.

After blindfolding Evey and escorting her to the mysterious “Shadow Gallery,” V introduces himself and shows Evey his home, which is filled with banned literature, music, and art that Norsefire’s government has deemed “subversive.” V wants Evey to tell him about herself, which she does. There was a nuclear war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, ending in the annihilation of much of the planet, according to Ms. In the years that followed, the cruel Norsefire administration rose to prominence and ruled the world.

Even though V’s true identity is kept a secret for most of the novel, much of his past is revealed in the Shadow Gallery. In order to impress Prothero, V recreates images from the now-closed Larkhill Resettlement Camp in the Shadow Gallery.
