The Big Lebowski phones The Dude one week later with some news: Bunny was abducted. He feels The Dude is the only one that can provide its ransom of a million dollars. The Dude tries to, but his friend Walter gets involved and provides a briefcase full of soiled underpants to the abductors. The $1 million cases are still in the car of The Dude.
A couple of frames bowl Dude, Walter and Donny, and then they decide to call it quits. Then he went home and brought back the rug Maude Lebowski, the daughter of Big, from the Big’s manor house. Later, a bunch of German nihilists attacked her home, who recognized themselves as Bunny Lebowski’s abductors and requested his money.
Soon after that, two different individuals, who take his freshly obtained robbery, again attacked Dude in his home. Walter, a veteran of Vietnam, tells the Dude he will aid him with money drops and has a plan to let the kidnappers leave the million for themselves with a short case of dirty underpants. Walter throws the ringer off the window instead of the short case with ransom funds, against the wishes of Dude, and goes into the bowling alley. The Dude’s car gets taken the same night, with money from the ransom inside. Lebowski’s daughter, Maude, a conceptual engineer, contacts Dude, making things even more confusing, and informs him she’s the one who took his rug. She says to Lebowski that she and her father are working on a foundation, and wants Lebowski to get back the money from her savings account.
That evening they broke into the House of Dude and threatened to castration a bunch of German nihilists, including a man named Uli, who Bunny appeared in the movie if he couldn’t make money.
Our hero left our policy far behind with “The Big Lebowski” and primarily exists to keep a bowl. He’s always far from sober in fact never intoxicated throughout the film. Walter Sobchak and Donny Kerabatsos are his bowling partners (Steve Buscemi). Walter is a proud veteran and strategist of the three, even bigger than the Dude.
