Thirteen-year-old New York City resident Brian Robeson boards a plane from Hampton, New York, for his father’s cabin in the Canadian north woods. Both “The Secret” that his mother is having an affair and his parent’s recent divorce is very difficult for him. He receives very quick flying instruction from the pilot, during which Brian pilots the aircraft for a short period of time. The agony in the pilot’s stomach, arm, and shoulder seem to be becoming worse.
