Phil Connors is a TV weatherman who believes his present employment at a local radio station in Pittsburgh to be a waste.
Phil’s early response to the same day is to leverage his Groundhog Day knowledge for egoistic goals. He steals some bank money, for example, and uses the intellect to sleep with a beautiful woman. Then Rita, its producer, sets his sights on. But finally, he learns that regardless of how often he tries to seduce her, she will always see through her egoistic tricks.
Phil knows after a time that Groundhog Day never escapes. He decided to kill himself. He decides. However, he wakes up in his bed on February 2nd, no matter how many times he tries.
Finally, he really gives up and helps others. He gives up. He even tries to rescue the life of an ancient homeless guy but finds that he is destined to die on Groundhog Day no matter what his actions are. Yeah, Phil has learned another precious lesson; he can’t change some things.
Now that Phil has learned to abandon his ego and to accept things he can’t alter, he’s a better individual. This new approach to life pays off as he gains Rita’s heart and eventually escapes his Groundhog Day jail.

As everybody knows, the film consists of a man who lives on and on the same day. He is the only individual in his universe that understands this is going on and he begines to perform something, unlike his very nature after passing through stages of shock and bitterness, revolt and despair, suicidality, and cynical self-destruction. They understood how he could convert it into something sublime, and another performer could transform it into parable clothing. From the beginning of his career, at Second City in Chicago Ramis and Murray had collaborated and knew one another how only improvisational performers can understand each other, identifying their boundaries and strengths before a dynamic and inebriated audience at night. I doubt whether Ramis was interested to direct this material with anyone besides Murray. It wasn’t the story that attracted him, but Murray’s thoughts.

This motivates him to be kind and patient with all he meets for the following few days. Starting with new activities, such as ice sculpting, he learns how to play the piano. After learning it’s his last day, he’s helping him make the last day of his life the best he can ever do and try to save him. He’s always going to die. Which Groundhog Day character are you?
He conducts “errands” every day after that which aid people around town and is the most popular man in the town of Punxsutawney before he realizes it. He falls in love for the last time that night with Rita. She’s staying in the night and waking up the next morning to each other, once again welcomed by Sonny and Cher, but these two men protest two days in a row of the song. Then Phil understands that it’s a fresh day at last.
