She is irritated when she is called a child. When they arrive on the island, they are told to take the coastal route, but the father takes a detour through the woods. The kids are arguing, and the father is driving while distracted.
The car collides with something, but they don’t know what because they can’t see anything, but they notice a black liquid on the fender. When a man arrives on the scene, he intimidates them. When they get at the cabin, they are curious about what is inside the cage and why the man was so angry and scary; Josephine is grumpy and thinks they should find out what they damaged. She escapes through the window at night and rides her bicycle to the scene of the collision, where she discovers a wounded little elf-like creature.
She hides it in the barn, and her brother Kasper discovers her secret. She begs him not to tell her parents. They feed it and bandage its damaged foot. They also learn that it exclusively eats flesh, and the cat is slaughtered. They encounter a local lady named Karen and inquire about Christmas trees; she tells them not to cut any trees because they live in harmony with nature.
In the meantime, birds begin to leave the woodland. Karen recognizes this and shares her worry right away. She requests that Moller (the man who had threatened them) sacrifice another cow. Mads (the Father), Kasper, and Charlotte (the Mother) are heading out to get a Christmas tree, leaving Josefine alone, who pretends to want to read alone. Josefine adores the little elf and names it Kee-Ko.
Moller and his friend Andre take the cow for sacrifice, but he notices a child’s footprint outside the enclosure and doubts that the tourists are involved, so he asks Andre to accompany him inside the enclosure and goes to the visitor’s house, where he finds the children tending to the elf-like creature.

After that, they determined it would be best to fence the area off and keep tourists at bay.
Josefine excuses herself to use the restroom and discovers weird skulls, wood fragments, and a radio inside one of the rooms. As Karen approaches, she goes into hiding and calls Molleron on the phone. She learns that he has investigated the barn but has not found anything.
