The first three episodes of the newest “Star Wars” series “Andor” on Disney+ debuted today. Although the show is a prequel to the 2016 movie “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” there are some lessons you can learn from it that will improve your enjoyment of “Andor.”

The plot of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” takes place in the days preceding “A New Hope” and centers on a motley crew of rebels who devoted their lives in order to steal the Death Star blueprints, which the Rebellion subsequently used to blow up the Death Star at the conclusion of the film. A young woman named Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) is to be escorted while her father Galen (Mads Mikkelsen), who built the Death Star, is to be assassinated discreetly in Luna’s Cassian Andor. Diego Luna as Cassian Andor
Although Diego Luna is most known to Star Wars fans as Rebel snoop Cassian Andor from Rogue One, he has been giving outstanding performances since the early 2000s, when he co-starred with his pal Gael Garcia Bernal in the hugely successful Mexican movie Y tu mamá también. Since playing the lead in his breakthrough performance, he has gone on to collaborate with other acclaimed filmmakers, including Steven Spielberg (The Terminal), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Barry Jenkins (If Beale Street Could Talk). He participated in a sequel to Joel Schumacher’s psychological horror film Flatliners from 1990 as well as the dystopian sci-fi film Elysium from Neill Blomkamp.
Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen
Bix Caleen, played by Adria Arjona, is a dealer on the black market at night and a mechanic by day. She also appears to be one of Cassian’s closest pals on Ferrix, and at one point in the past, they may have been more than just friends. Although we don’t know a lot more about Bix, it is obvious that she despises power, especially that of Preox-Morlana goons.
The Puerto Rican actor most recently played Marvel character Martine Bancroft in this year’s vampire movie Morbius, which is similar to Spider-Man. She also portrayed the title bride in the 2022 remake of Father of the Bride by Warner Bros. Prior to that, Arjona starred as Emerald City’s main character in NBC’s Wizard of Oz TV series, Anathema on Good Omens, and Jules Reyes in Pacific Rim: Uprising.
Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma
Mon Mothma, a future senator from Chandriland and head of the Rebel Alliance, is played by Genevieve O’Reilly once more. Although O’Reilly is most known for playing the part in Rogue One, she was originally chosen to play the part in Revenge of the Sith. However, the majority of her parts were ultimately deleted from the theatrical release. Thankfully, Andor finally gives us a glimpse of Mon Mothma’s background as a senator prior to her role in the Rebellion.
