“Entergalactic,” a new Netflix collaboration with Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, defies easy classification. It is described as a “animated narrative” and a “television event.” I’m tempted to refer to it as a movie because it lasts 92 minutes, even though it’s broken up into several parts (which show up as chapter titles, not full episode breaks).
However, “Entergalactic” is missing a lot of the essential components of a movie. There is a plot that adheres to the standard romantic rhythms. However, there isn’t enough action to claim that the story is driving it.

One such voice is Macaulay Culkin, who plays Downtown Pat and advises Jabari, Jimmy (Timothée Chalamet), and Jordan on matters of love (Jaden Smith). Similar to his Don’t Look Up character, Chalamet throws himself into this voice delivery with enthusiasm. Ty Dolla $ign

Actor Ty Dolla $ign plays Jabari’s other pal. The “Paranoid” artist makes his acting debut, but chances are you’ve already heard him on the radio at some point in the past, whether it was his verse on Fifth Harmony’s 2016 hit “Work from Home” or his own tracks “Or Nah” and “Blasé.” If that weren’t enough, he’s also a prolific writer: You can thank him for at least part of Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds.”
Vanessa Hudgens

Karina, played by the Princess Switch actress, is Meadow’s pregnant friend who alternately supports and chastises her for her relationship with Jabari. Hudgens’ performance in the High School Musical trilogy will make her a Zillennial icon forever, but she has a history of stealing the show in movies like Spring Breakers, Bad Boys for Life, and last year’s Tick… Tick… Boom!
