However, Gwendolyn contracts lung cancer just before things have worked out. Ratched feels helpless to both, but Charlotte soon returns and acts as Dr. Hanover. After she killed Hanover. Charlotte saves Edmund. In the end, he discovers that Ratched would slowly kill him to avoid the torture of the Electric Chair’s horrendous shock. Otherwise, Edmund takes it and decides to kill Ratched who lives with Gwendolyn in Mexico today.

Mildred recalls an earlier encounter in which Huck asked Mildred nicely and with respect and discussed a desire for a larger end in life. She notes that he does not have the qualifications (in fact he is not a nurse), but like Mildred, she does.
