The picture of Kim who was waiting thinking about a lift from the band recital was all that was missing. The cigarette. Kim has been waiting for, whether not to be quite so alone in her personal or peerless in her professional life, since she first been introduced in the first season—as she and Jimmy shared a shady cigarette in HHM’s garage. She takes over where and when she can, whether she rejects Red Cloud’s middle school, not driving with her lost mother, or opposing the efforts of her legal company to push a persnickety senior from home in her family decades later. She was never totally behind the wheel, the main difficulty.
It goes twice for Jimmy’s dynamic, who has always hung on his various fantasies. Her domestic relationship and efforts to work alongside her eyes wide open have entered Jimmy, yet when Jimmy talks she goes across the world at a certain rhythm that isn’t less peculiar than her rhythm.
