This well-meaning but somehow ineffective, dual-bio documentary by Lisa Immordino Vreeland about Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote is a hue of a somewhat maudlin reverence, with the two southern gay writers, who in the 1950s and 1960s had a colossal statue in the American artistic and celebrity circles when literature had to be taken seriously and homosexuality was able to be hidden.

Truman & Tennessee is ultimately a fascinating but mournful note to two brilliant misfits’ enduring friendship. Who rocked the world of the literary and the cinema. Despite continual self-doubt and the apparent unconcern of a relator, at just the right time, in reverse. Williams writes, Elegiac in his own way, “I care more for you than you realize, for your ailing pal. Your wonderful sense of humor may be the best thing to aid you right now.
