Who Are The Blue Beetle Characters?
One of the first superheroes in the DC Comics canon is Blue Beetle, who made his debut in Mystery Men Comics #1 back in 1939. Three distinct iterations of Blue Beetle have appeared in comic books over the years. The first, Dan Garrett, was an archaeologist who used the power of a blue scarab he discovered in Egypt to fight crime. He also served as the mentor for Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle, a brilliant inventor and martial artist who created his own devices to carry on the family legacy. Jaime Reyes, who also happens to be the main character in this movie, is the third Blue Beetle.
The voice of the scarab, an artificial intelligence developed by the interplanetary conquering aliens known as Reach, is Khaji-Da. It affixes itself to Jaime Reyes and bestows to him the abilities of the Blue Beetle. As Jaime’s Eddie Brock’s venom, Khaji-Da battles him for control of his body and grants him the power to summon any weapon he can think of.
Bruna Marquezine, a Brazilian actress, portrays Jenny Kord, the daughter of Ted Kord, the founder of Kord Industries and a former Blue Beetle. As a young actress, Bruna Marquezine debuted in a number of children’s TV series and telenovelas, such as Mulheres Apaixonadas, América, and Em Familia. In addition to being a well-known supermodel and frequent participant in fashion events like New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, Bruna Marquezine is well-known in Brazil.
The older sister of Ted Kord, who assumes leadership of Kord Industries as CEO following her brother’s disappearance, is Victoria Kord, another fictional character developed just for the film. Victoria wants to use the scarab’s power to build lethal weapons and take over the world, but once the scarab escapes her grasp and lands in Jaime’s lap, she will do everything it takes to get it back.
In the movie, comedian and actor George Lopez portrays Jaime’s lively and mysterious uncle, Rudy Reyes. Lopez is well renowned for his stand-up specials where he discusses his Latin American culture and his ABC spectacular The George Lopez Show. Over the years, he has also made appearances in a number of TV episodes and motion pictures, such as Real Women Have Curves and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D.
Jaime’s younger sister, Milagro, is by her brother’s side at all times. Milagro collaborates with her brother at the Kord family’s villa to keep their house from being taken away since she has faith in him. Played by the up-and-coming young actress Belissa Escobedo, whose credits include American Horror Story, The Baker and the Beauty, and Hocus Pocus 2. Milagro is opinionated, sarcastic, and not hesitant to confront people’s biases.
Even though Victoria Kord is Blue Beetle’s main enemy, she still requires someone to physically oppose him and present challenges that need to be solved in action sequences. Carapax, a legendary Blue Beetle antagonist from the comics who is sometimes referred to as The Indestructible Man, plays Victoria Kord’s enforcer in the movie and faces Jaime in the final act.
Nothing is more iconic than a Mexican grandmother, and Jaime’s Nana more than fulfills that description. When the situation calls for it, Nana may be the most sly and ferocious person imaginable, but she also has Jaime’s back no matter what. As seen in the teaser, Nana even gets to participate in the action, utilizing her background as a rebel to fire a machine gun.
The film stars Elpidia Carrillo, a prolific Mexican actress, as Jaime’s mother, Rocio Reyes. Like all Mexican mothers, Jaime’s mother is fiercely protective and constantly worries about her kid, and that concern only grows when your son is affixed to a lethal device. Throughout her lengthy career, Elpidia has starred in a number of well-known films, including Salvador and Predator 2. Most recently, she played Sonia Perez in the critically praised teen drama Euphoria.
In Blue Beetle, Damián Alcázar portrays Jaime’s father. Roberto Reyes, who recently suffered a heart attack, is unable to work, endangering their home and causing Jaime to become anxious. Additionally, Jaime’s father appears in a pivotal sequence in Blue Beetle that alludes to the well-known candle scene from the beloved Mexican film Macario, which is guaranteed to make you cry. Over the years, Alcázar has played a number of parts, such as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia and Herod’s Law.
Harvey Guillén, who plays Dr. Sanchez and works for Victoria Kord despite his true feelings, completes the ensemble. As he did with Perrito in Push in Boots: The Last Wish, Harvey Guillén, who is most recognized for his portrayal in What We Do in the Shadows, lends a charming likeability to this part. Guillén is also the voice of Nightwing in the animated Harley Quinn series that Max is presently airing.

About The Quiz
Hugs, laughter, and true devotion make up these early scenes as Jaime (a charming Xolo Maridueña) returns home from college to the imaginary Palmera City; a mountain of love falls swiftly. However, not everything is well in the Reyes household: Alberto (Damián Alcázar), Jaime’s father, has lost his car shop business. Kord Industry is now threatening to reclaim Jaime’s childhood home. Even with a pre-law degree, Jaime finds it difficult to get employment. He works as an assistant at a resort alongside his younger, snarky sister Milagro (Belissa Escobedo).
“Blue Beetle” spends a lot of time on the wealth gap between the rich and the poor, especially as it relates to imperialist nations. Even while someone like Jaime can follow all the correct paths—attend college, maintain humility, and be kind—his history as a low-income Mexican living in the impoverished Edge Keys community will always limit his options. But when he stands between the kind Jenny Kord (Bruna Marquezine) and her vicious aunt Victoria, he believes he has found a lifeline. Jenny offers him a job if he meets with her at Kord headquarters the next day, even after Victoria fires him.
