Winchester Quiz – Which Character Are You?

Take this Winchester Quiz to find out which character you are. We update the quiz regularly and it’s the most accurate among the other quizzes.

During the 15 years that Sam and Dean Winchester drove about in a ’67 Chevy Impala protecting people and hunting things on Supernatural, the show reduced its audience to a sloppy puddle of tears. However, the show’s second (and last) swan song is the most moving.

With a show that has been killing off its primary characters every year since season 2, the finale of Supernatural was never going to be a flowery farewell. The guys and their trenchcoat-wearing angel fought for free will for more than a decade — and with free will comes humanity. Gaining the ability to craft their own story means that they will not be resurrected by cosmic forces while hunting. Sam and Dean are at peace, but why did the episode have to end in this manner?

Editor’s Picks

We can’t only look at the final episode of Supernatural to understand how it ends. Instead, we need to look at the last three episodes to understand where each major character ends up, what it means for them, and what it means for the series as a whole. In other words, “there’s work to be done.” This is how Supernatural’s ending is explained. Also, you must try to play this Winchester Quiz.

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke’s “no angel policy” came crashing down with Castiel, who had “the greatest entrance of any character in the entire span of the show,” according to actress Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester). This particular angel spends just over a decade while wearing a self-cleaning trenchcoat, unlearning thousands of years of angel bias and brutality. Castiel understands Dean like no one else — not even Sam — from his first few lines. When Dean expresses doubts about Cas’ reasons for rescuing him from hell, the angel says, “You don’t think you deserve to be saved?”

Despite Dean’s arrogance and snark, Castiel understands how Dean sees himself: as a destructive, furious, and shattered man – Daddy’s brutal instrument. Cas finally reveals Dean the truth in the third-to-last episode, “Despair,” when he sacrifices himself to the Empty, a plane of nonexistence where angels go when they die. Castiel achieves his one true moment of bliss after making a deal for Jack’s life by finally declaring his love for his human, Dean Winchester.

“Happiness isn’t in having — it’s in just being,” Cas says. After admitting his feelings for Sam and Jack, the angel clarifies, “But I cared about the entire universe because of you.” Dean, who is oblivious, wonders why the monologue seems like a farewell; Cas confirms fans’ hopeful notions when he says, “I love you.” And those three words end up saving the planet.

About the quiz

Cas doesn’t need Dean to respond or even say anything back. With a smirk, he saves his human, pushing him away and leaves a bloody handprint on the hunter’s jacket, echoing the handprint scar left on Dean’s shoulder when Castiel grasped him tightly and raised him from Perdition in season 4. The gesture is one final tangible manifestation of their “deep bond.”

In a relationship as long, vital, and formative to who a person (or angel) is, there comes a point when they must chose whether to let the experience break them or shape them positively. Cas understands, as he reflects on his time knowing and loving Dean, that the hunter’s genuine feelings for him don’t matter. Castiel’s confession isn’t about Dean; it’s about him finally being honest with his innermost human emotions. Cas accepts himself without apologies or fear of rejection, so liberating himself.

We saw Sam and Dean ride off into the sunset in Baby, their iconic ’67 Impala, in the last minutes of the penultimate episode, which was followed by a montage of the show’s best moments. However, certain major questions remained: Where would the brothers go if Chuck hadn’t written their story? Is it possible that after all this time, Sam and Dean will retire and settle down to start their own families? Or, might the Winchesters keep the family business of saving people and hunting things going until they died in a blaze of glory? Let’s take a look at where the trip has brought us and how things will end for our heroes.
