About the quiz

He auditioned for The X Factor at the age of 16, and the rest is history. One Direction, who debuted on the show in 2010, went on to become one of the decade’s most popular acts, with sales surpassing even the Beatles. Horan, with his baby-faced good features and lovely tenor, was one of the group’s main songwriters and a fan favorite.

One Direction took a well-deserved break in January 2016 after five albums in five years and the loss of one of their most popular members (Zayn Malik). Horan confirmed later that year that he had secured a solo deal with Capitol. In September, he released his debut solo single, the romantic acoustic ballad “This Town,” which drew similarities to Ed Sheeran and peaked at number nine on the UK singles chart. Before his debut solo album, Flicker was released in October 2017, he released two more singles: “Slow Hands” and “Too Much to Ask.”

The album, which was inspired by Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, also includes an appearance by Maren Morris on “Seeing Blind.” The album not only topped the charts in Canada and Ireland, but it also debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified platinum worldwide. Horan and his band stopped in Dublin during the album’s promotional tour to record a live version of Flicker with the 45-piece RTÉ Concert Orchestra, which was released in early 2019 as Flicker Featuring the RTÉ Concert Orchestra Live. Later that year, Horan released “Nice to Meet Ya,” the first song from his sophomore album, Heartbreak Weather, which was inspired by the aftermath of a relationship.
