I tend to work with incredibly clever folks by the nature of what I do for my life. Hyper bright folks have been my observation that can think with great ease of difficulties and chances. Wherever I talk about intellectual, ego, leadership, etc., I constantly remember the cartoon which reads: “Rule No. 1: The boss is always correct. Rule number two: resort to rule number one is in question.” If you are rationalizing or justified, without cultural, practical, time-based, or other contextual considered, stances based simply on intellectual reasoning, you can be too intelligent for your own sake. Just like a lack of gravity does not keep you from falling, just believing that a specific view or theory is true is not.
Often the trouble with smart persons comes simply from the fact that they are correct. Glory individuals can rapidly become confused with brilliance and can defend views to death occasionally rather than accept that they’re mistaken. Intelligent leaders fear more than proved incorrect. It is not very difficult to win an argument, but it could come at a very costly price. This ego-intellect confusion typically originates from the successful argument over time that misplaced positions so that they have created themselves to be correct and hence will defend their perfect record of invented righteousness. Smart individuals often fall into the trap, even in fantasy, of choosing to be correct.
