The Injustice franchise has since its launch in 2013 not only been a fixture of NetherRealm’s lists, but it has also made a beloved part of the DC multiverse with its comic spinoffs. The narrative is all about a scenario in which the Joker could tamper so severely about Superman that the Steelman, supported by some members of the Justice League, gradually became a mass killing dictator.
Left with no options, Batman brought the Justice League’s counterparts from the “mainstream” realm to aid him combat his erstwhile buddy in civil war. This was a narrative that combined the two-part Justice Lords of the Justice League with the original Marvel Squadron Supreme Comic series.
A popular prequel series, largely by Tom Taylor, detailed Superman executing the Joker in cold blood and Batman’s last stand for five years. Some time later, the story of the game was adapted to the Injustice comic: Ground Zero. And the Universe of Injustice has only been growing ever since.
As spiffy as the story modes of NetherRealm are, they will have to modify the story in the animated film. It’s not like every character will fall into four of three best fighting in a row, before anyone else’s focus. Knowing that some characters would need gentle love and care, it will be altered.
