About the quiz
As engineering students at one of India’s most prestigious colleges, Farhan, Raju, and Rancho share their stories with us. Farrah is seeking an engineering degree because his father has asked him to, while Raju is trying to improve his family’s financial circumstances, and Rancho is studying for the sheer joy of making machines. Because of his inventive and unorthodox responses, Rancho angers the college’s dean, Professor Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani), and later blames the rote-learning mindset of the university for the suicide of his friend Joy Lobo.
To prevent Raju from graduating, Virus has promised to make the course’s final exam as difficult as possible. He and Farhan then steal Raju’s exam questions from Pia, who then tells Rancho about it. A pregnant Mona (Mona Singh) goes into childbirth at the same time as Viru’s expulsion sentence.
After Rancho recovers power using vehicle batteries and a power inverter he invented, Pia directs him to deliver the baby in the college common room via Voice over IP. Rancho resuscitates the baby after it appears to be stillborn, and the Virus permits them to take and pass their final exams as a result. Rancho takes first place and receives Virus’s prize pen, which has been reserved for a very gifted pupil in the past. They graduated, and Rancho vanished. Farhan and Raju race to Rancho’s last known address, unaware of the secret that has been concealed from them all along.
