No one wants to have something that doesn’t work! Being a witch or wizard definitely means that having items that work is important because otherwise, who knows what will happen with your magic! When Ron broke his wand, the series demonstrated the fact that having a wand that isn’t working right can make spells backfire in a pretty huge way. Yikes! This isn’t a great thing but having a broom that doesn’t fly where you’re trying to go would be no good either.
