Episode 4 picked up following the arrest of DCS Jackie Twomey. Before being questioned by Heather, as Tom is looking on, we witness him being swabbed, fingerprinted, and jailed in overalls.
Dinger phones Niamh to prove that he could not discover anything else after examining the caravan and that he suspects that somebody could from Jackie and get him to be freed from the police.
Tori realizes that the collar Adam sent her as a proof is the same.
Tom discloses to Tori in a frightening confrontation that he is actually the serial assassin Goliath and that he is liable for the killings of her father, Simon Quinlan and Adam Corry.
He adds that he went back home in 1998 to find his boy’s daughter and his wife vanished in the house.

Tom says he got a phone call from David Corry saying he’d knocked his wife off and he’d have to kill Simon Quinlan and Joe Harkin if he ever wants to see her again. When Emma’s wife finally returned, Tom states that she and David were “like a couple” and that she did not plan to return home, so he kills David too.

DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt, The Missing) is a Belfast detective who was called upon to investigate the disappearance of a notable former IRA member. This case was quickly related to a series of kidnappings/supposed 1998 killings. The situation of ‘Goliath’ is relatively personal, as we learn soon.
Goliath is a serial murderer. He’s a murderer, well. All right, more of an abductor. A cop, perhaps. He’s a probable officer kidnapping serial murderer.
Jackie concedes the evidence against him that he knew Adam Cory, but his caravan book with the Goliath postcard was not part of him.
BBC The Bloodlands functioned as the utter bombshell of a cliffhanger only when we believed we had a grip on what was happening.

Also, up to today, a 20-year-old assassination-mystery complot has been investigated by DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt). Furthermore, ‘Goliath’ is the codename of an unnamed murderer who was considered a police insider, responsible for the killings in connection with the Good Friday Agreement of four persons – Catholic and Protestant. In order to maintain peace, the delicate nature and the timing of the murders led to a cover-up.
But it was a lot more personal for Brannick. He was one of the missing/murdered, his wife Emma.
The ones found in the shallow grave were identified as David Cory, Joe Harkin, and father Simon Quinlan (all long presumed to have been victims of Goliath)
But one of these deaths was wearing a necklace of an owl pendant; Then, the very same one Brannick gave in episode one to his daughter. He and his wife had the same ones, he explained, and he handed him over to her.
So how did the remains of David Cory come to be found?
Brannick had met Adam to find his information and his views regarding David’s events – and we saw the kick-off in episode two.
