After its debut at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, the new horror movie “In the Earth” received considerable attention, thank to the many comparisons to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ability to combine environmental terrorism with occultism annoyingly and viscerally of filmmaker Ben Wheatley. With people who distance themselves socially, don protective gear, and emerge from quarantine, the film opens with a devastating virus that devastates the Earth.
