Is it a common experience to feel like an outcast?
The likelihood of feeling like an outsider at least once in one’s life is close to one hundred percent. Everyone, in my experience, has been or will feel like an outsider in society at some point in their lives. As a result, the sensation of being an outsider becomes universal.
What causes a person to be an outcast?
An outcast is someone who is rejected or ‘cast out,’ such as from home or society, or who is ostracized, looked down on, or neglected in some way. In everyday English, an outcast is someone who does not fit in with the rest of society, which can lead to feelings of loneliness.
Joining clubs will not make someone feel more at ease. The concept appears to be logical. But it isn’t the case. People don’t comprehend that joining a club will do more harm than good for an outcast if the person is already feeling neglected or invisible.
College is not unlike high school. It’s completely true. College is viewed as a magical fresh beginning by many, but it is not. College is merely another version of the nightmare that was high school.
About the quiz
People still form cliques in college. People should grow out of cliques in college, but they don’t. People that were popular in high school are still popular in college.
Everyone else is crowded out by popular people. This point expands on the previous one. The term “popular” is a relative one. However, this does not change the fact that “popular” people squeeze out everyone else since they receive the most attention. That isn’t right. But just because the adage “life isn’t fair” is true does not make it acceptable.
Parties are not open to everyone. The term is closely linked to the concept of college popularity. When it comes to parties, not everyone is invited. Only those who appear to “know” about the events are invited. That is scarcely merely because it perpetuates the same old status quo that existed in high school.
A coping method is eating alone or carrying cafeteria food back to your hostel. You can’t really bring food back to your dorm in high school. If you don’t have somebody to eat lunch with, you can either eat alone at a table or in an empty hallway. If you don’t have anyone to eat within the college, you can definitely bring food back to your room. It surely saves some embarrassment.
Outcasts do not cause their own issues. People prefer to believe that if a person has no friends, it is their fault. But it isn’t the case. Feeling invisible and insignificant is something no one should ever experience.
