The movie follows a free spirit, lovely woman named Pixie, who is wise and selfish. In West Ireland, she is the step-daughter of a gangster. She desires her mother’s death to revenge her and to begin anew. And so she creates an elaborate plot with two foolish young men (actually, not that elaborate, as we will see later). In these two dolts, she employs her charms and her brains to wrap her drug trafficking strategy.
The strategy consists of the theft of €1 million from drug sellers of MDMA substances. She wishes to go back to San Fransisco and enroll at an art school, as regards her starting intentions. However, her plot would soon be worse if the Irish gangster priests get in contact with it.
Olivia Cooke stars as the eponymous character a 20 local gal who turns out to be the siblings of a regional mobster (Colm Meaney), who also has two other stepchildren, one being the step-brother of Pixie, Mickey (Turlough Convery). Pixie is a heartbreaker, famous for the beauty of her guys, and rumored for taking sensual pictures. She aspires to attend art school in San Francisco and sets up both her present and ex-lovers to a heist in the opening sequence to get enough money for the journey. But, as theft often does, the crime goes wrong.

The remainder of the film follows Pixie and two local men, Frank (Ben Hardy) and Harland (Daryl McCormack), as they journey throughout the country to be twisted into bloody riots at Pixie’s request and after such a disastrous robbery the local criminal/karma scales have to be reset. Irish accents and scenery (including a ring of priests’ gangsters as if the church had no problem) and abundant Catholic iconography suggest that Martin, John Michaël McDonagh, and Tarantino are the channels. In actual fact, however, there is no one non-derived element in the film other than French-born John de Borman’s widescreen film, where natural light and textures are captured in the sense of the presence of a fine art photographer.
The background of Pixie’s family is compelling, weaving the narrative and ending up paying off. But it’s hard to worry about because neither the director nor the author, seems to have been really involved in the characters as persons of actual life (which is true of characters like Tarantino and Richie even when they sneak up and linger on their ordinary shticks). They mainly say witty words and do allegedly unbelievable things. They are just here. Also, you must try to play this Pixie quiz.
About the quiz
Located in West Ireland, the movie starts with Pixie visiting the grave of her mother. She speaks about vengeance on the death of her mother and moves throughout the world to ensure that nobody can find her. We see Colin and Fergus treading outside a church. Elsewhere, we notice two thugs. Colin talked to a girl who’s seeing another guy, Tyrone, about his split. Following the brief talk, the priests in the church are threatened and a pack full of drugs is robbed from their arms. One of the priests represses, and the subsequent shooting kills all the priests.
In the meantime, we find Pixie waiting at the airport for someone to catch a trip to San Francisco. When Colin sees the passport of Fergus and understands its name is Tyrone, Colin and Fergus drive away after the drug collection. We’ve learned that Pixie is Colin’s girl, and Fergus is the one at the airport she’s waiting for. A Colin jealous shoots Fergus and goes away with a drug bag. She’s heading back home when Fergus doesn’t get there on time.
Two of their best friends, Frank and Harland, with their humor, wandering over at a pub and talking to Pixie about their appeal. It appears that Pixie has a reputation for notoriety. Frank decides to follow her, anyway. Frank and Harland stopped at the house of Pixie later that night. In hopes to crochet her, Frank enters. While Frank is with Pixie inside, Harland waits outside and sees a furious Colin coming to Pixie. When Harland sees Colin pulling a gun out, he is panicking and he is driving his car over.
