After realizing that the man he was dealing with – his old boss, Colonel Schoonover – was part of a broader CIA conspiracy, Frank Castle continued to the hunter the men who killed his family in his first season. Based on the tracking of “Agent Orange” and his former boss, Bili Russo, who are both enveloped inside it, he is drawn back into a vigilant existence.

In this final battle, he and Frank square off. After beating Russo, Frank brings him to Madani, whose inquiry placed her next to Frank, and shattering his face in a mirror.

Which The Punisher character are you?
Much of the finale maybe that Frank Castle, killed Billy Russo, known as Jigsaw, and Punisher. This is no minor matter after all that the pair has gone through. As we saw in the first season, throughout the military service. Billy Russo was a buddy and a brother to the armies of Frank. Although it is fair to say both had no eye to eyes until the end of the first season. It ended with Frank cutting Russo’s face to a broken mirror before making him comatose.
But Frank didn’t kill him when he got the chance, despite the atrocities of Russo. Frank’s sparing Billy at least suggested the rescue of a man who killed nearly every criminal he met. Unfortunately, season 2 saw him back down dramatically for Frank’s fans leading a normal life. This time he ends the job, taking Russo out so that he can never again damage anybody else.
For a significant stretch of the second season. Brett Mahoney from the New York City Party (from Daredevil) tried to catch and prosecute Frank Castle. He nearly succeeded a few times.
Mahoney, therefore, has no leads and no case. He has just his own resolve to recover The Punisher. If the 3rd Punisher Stage truly happens (which, hey, maybe still…) you may think much of the story is that Mahoney would have established some sort of Punisher task force. As it is, you’re only going to have to presume that’s the course. After all, killing individuals, especially if they are criminals, is against the law.

Now, Season 2 of Punisher is living on Netflix, unleashing a dozen pulpy, ultra-violent episodes focused on the achievements of Frank Castle, an enraged combat veteran. This specific chapter of the Marvel/Netflix universe has no enthusiasm to foresee anything beyond the isolated story of this particular show in the wake of the cancelation of Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, refusing to even leave us with one single cliffhanger after the credit, but not without their loose threads.

Those unfamiliar with the comic book embodiment of Billy Russo are likely to wonder why I would bother to address the question following the events of Season 2. The man has been fired four times in the chest, first by Dinah, then by Frank himself, so he is dead… right, of course? WRONG.
Heck, on-screen Ben Barnes was born out of his last almost fatal run, as a flesh wound, so who’s going to claim that a few parts of jackets lead to life’s organs would stop him? The character may come back for Season 3 of Punisher, but the concept of another Billy Russo arc is still less exciting at this time. Their stuff might be messier than ever. I hope that this specific villain will stay for a good time, but there is no question of a surprising revival for a possible third season.
