About the quiz
Roubej, a resistance fighter, greets them when they reach the island. In addition to the two, Roubej introduces them to a significant number of other peasants who have fled the Nazis as well. He is drenched in gasoline and set ablaze by the Nazis, and Flyora understands that his family did not make it out of the war alive.
Roubej takes Flyora and two other companions to find food, and Roubej returns empty-handed. Because they run into the SS, and because the food is too well-defended to be raided, they are forced to flee. A minefield that Flyora guides the gang through kills two friends accidentally.
Flyora, unable to move the dead cow, discovers a horse and cart the next morning. They can hear the sound of German soldiers approaching them from a distance.
We will follow suit in due course. In his home village, Flyora joins forces with Glasha (Olga Mironova) in a kind of maddening dance, as they begin to grasp — but also deny — the evil unleashed. A short, sidelong glance from Glasha confirms the worst at one point, but Flyora does not look.
